Italian Grand Prix fills Milan with fans for three days, but the track only runs for a few hours a day. Practice starts around lunchtime, qualifying leaves the morning free and the day after the race is open. This guide fills those gaps.
Malpensa (MXP) has the Malpensa Express to Cadorna and Centrale in about 50 minutes. Linate (LIN) is on metro line M4, 15 minutes to San Babila. Bergamo (BGY) has buses to Centrale in about 1 hour.
Monza is 20 km north of Milan. Trenord trains from Milano Centrale or Porta Garibaldi to Monza take 10 to 15 minutes, then a shuttle bus or a 30-minute walk through the park.

First practice rarely starts before lunchtime, so the morning is free.
Support races fill the morning. Skip them for a slow start in town and reach the track after lunch.
Go to the track early and stay after the flag: leaving straight away means the worst of the traffic.
A full free day before the flight home. This is the best day for a longer trip out of town.
